Dialogue

Dialogue in Adventure Verse enables narrative development, optional lore exposition, and additional gameplay opportunities. Conversations are not linear; players select from a number of options in response to each NPC statement, which can lead the conversation down divergent paths towards unique outcomes.

There are three dialogue stats in Adventure Verse:

  • Intimidate: Enables dialogue lines that persuade by instilling fear in conversers.

  • Intellect: Enables dialogue lines that persuade through cunning, clever, or logical statements.

  • Inspire: Enables dialogue lines that persuade by galvanizing conversers.

Dialogue stats are leveled by doing and can receive bonuses from equipment and titles. Which stat will be useful will depend on the opposing converser and the context of the encounter.

The story of Adventure Verse is thoughtfully written with branching dialogue and meaningful decision-making. Depending on your dialogue choices, battles can be initiated, altered, or avoided completely; characters can be saved or executed; and quests and sidequests can be opened or closed permanently.
